The Free Zones Founders and Operators Association (SEBKİDER) is the sector organization representing the founders and operators of free zones, which constitute the cornerstone of Turkey’s free zones.

The founders and operators of free zones are authorized by the President of Turkey to make the necessary investments for establishing a new free zone within the scope of investment commitments determined by contracts to be concluded with the Ministry of Trade, and to operate this zone, whether they are public institutions and organizations, domestic or foreign natural or legal persons.

As of 2023, the free zones, which achieved an annual trade volume of 32 billion USD and exports exceeding 1.2 billion USD, and provided employment for a total of 98,000 people with over 2000 companies hosted, have united their forces under the umbrella of the Free Zones Founders and Operators Association (SEBKİDER).

Representing the founders and operators of 19 free zones in Turkey, SEBKİDER aims to contribute to our country’s production, exports, trade, and employment by providing the best investment environment in free zones in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and our stakeholders.

In this context, SEBKİDER aims to:

• Contribute to the Turkish economy in terms of employment, production, and exports in free zones.
• Produce solutions with common sense to ensure that investors in free zones benefit from the best services and gain competitive advantages.
• Establish collaborations with Non-Governmental Organizations to contribute to social developments and sustainability efforts.
• Coordinate free zones with all economic and social structures, especially with the Ministry of Trade.
• Introduce free zones and investment opportunities to investors.

SEBKİDER carries out its activities in line with these goals.
